Quality Performance
The Tanglewood Winterleaf Folk Acoustic Guitar is a guitar focused on affordable performance, playability and aesthetics. The natural satin finish means that Tanglewood can give you a solid cedar topped guitar at an excellent price-point. While the natural satin could be seen as a cost-saving measure, the satin finish does actually provide a more smooth and tactile feel. Satin is also a thinner finish than gloss and lets the wood 'breathe' more for enhanced resonance and sustain; many guitars are purposefully spec'd with this finish to gain these benefits.
The Winterleaf Folk Acoustic Guitar puts all the focus on the player, and it provides a solid wood top, fantastic-looking olive wood body, mahogany neck and chrome die-cast tuners for tuning stability. This is the ideal instrument for developing players and value-seeking professionals.

Features
Solid Cedar Top / Olive Wood Back and Sides
A guitar gets its 'voice' from the top material, and solid woods are inherently more resonant and stable. Cedar gives a lovely dark tone with a 'sweet' and intimate nature. Cedar also 'plays in' quicker than other woods, meaning it'll take less time to develop its true mature character. The olive wood back and sides help to project that tone, giving the stability needed for acoustic volume.
While olive wood is a rarer timber in guitar construction, its appearance here makes us wonder why it's not more popular! This wood has a beautiful grain that gives the Winterleaf guitar a fantastic aesthetic on the back and sides. Olive wood lies between mahogany and rosewood in its strength and tonality, so it delivers a slightly darker tonality and the strength needed for projection when used for the back and the sides.
Mahogany Neck
The mahogany neck assists with sustain and resonance while the satin finish (as mentioned) is light enough to let the woods 'breathe' and resonate more fully. The Winterleaf Folk has a techwood fingerboard; a composite material made up of poplar and maple that adds warmth and balanced to the guitar's sound. Techwood also offers the constructional and aesthetic appeal of rosewood, providing a smooth, comfortable platform for the left hand.
Folk Body Shape
The Folk body shape (otherwise called Orchestra) is a mid-sized guitar. Its curvaceous design sits comfortably in the lap and provides a smooth playing experience and a very balanced tonality with an equal blend of lows and highs. The cedar top naturally emphasises the mid-range, making this guitar appropriate for all styles of music.
